  Halloween Party Guide

Halloween is a time for scary stories and pretend. Use these party guides as guides. Adjust to what you and your children will like and everyone is sure to have a fun and safe Halloween.

Bobbing for Apples:

You will need:

___ a tub or oversize bowl full of water
___ at least one apple per child or participant
___ somewhere sturdy to put your tub of water

___ a stop watch and towels

To Play:

Fill your bowl or tub full of water and place each apple in the water. Have each participant take a turn and see who can get an apple without using their hands the fastest. Traditionally each child will get wet so have towels on hand for each child.

To Extra Safety Measures:

This day and age this game is one that is not played too often because of illness and the spread of germs. We have came up with a way that is safe and still fun for everyone to play this Halloween favorite. For our alternative play follow these instructions.

You will need:

___ an oversize bowl full of water per participant
___ one apple per child or participant
___ somewhere sturdy to put your bowls of water

___ towels

To Play:

Place an apple in each bowl and then have the children line up in front of each bowl. One bowl per child. Make this a race for first, second, and third place. On...Mark....Set....Go...the children or participants race to see who can get the apple first without using his or her hands.

Costume Contest

___ Guests who came in a costume
___ prizes

To Play:

You need to select a panel from the guest to judge or have some forms for everyone to fill out with what types of prizes you will be giving out. Some examples for the contest could be:

Scariest Costume, Funniest Costume, Most original Costume, Cutest Costume, Most Colorful Costume, Most Recycled Costume, you get the drift. Make up enough categories so that everyone can be a winner especially if you have all younger guests, even if you have to create a new category when you are deciding on who the winners will be.

Have a ribbon, a printed certificate, (the certificate can be home-ade) or a special prize for each winner. Some examples of prizes could be:

A vampire ring for the Scariest Costume, a small joke for the Funniest costume, a cute small stuffed animal for the Cutest Costume, a small box of crayons and coloring book for the most colorful costume, a loot bag with Halloween candy in it for the Most Original Costume, and for Most Recycled Costume use a box of Count Chocula Cereal for your container and put some halloween candy in it.
